Whilst there aren’t as many life sciences companies in Milton Keynes compared with the Oxford and Cambridge clusters book-ending the Arc, our research shows there may be interesting collaboration opportunities for Milton Keynes’ pioneering tech businesses.
Our research shows that life science companies do not place as much importance on their tech collaborators being in their immediate cluster as perhaps they might a hospital or academic research institution. This positions Milton Keynes well to capture collaborative opportunities, particularly with the delivery of East-West Rail.
The science-tech collaboration presents a particular opportunity in areas such as AI and big data, which have a presence in Milton Keynes’ economy, and will be supported further with the creation of an undergraduate university.
